Notepad++ is a free source code editor (and Notepad replacement) for Microsoft Windows environment. Its a real IDE, unlike Notepad++ which is just an extended text editor. It is jampacked with standard features, it supports more than 50 programming, scripting and markup languages and. I like VS Code too and use it for other purposes. sometimes to do what you is created to do faster is better than try to be modern. Notepad++ is a free, open source code editor. VS Code could get some inspiration in Notepad++ to improve. You can use Notepad++ to quickly insert, edit, or delete text in multiple locations in one file at the same time All you have to do is enable Multi-Editing. I tried to use OneNote or others Notes apps but they are all very slow and lacking comparing with Notepad++. ![]() I use more Notepad++ just because it is my main notes tool. it is there until I close it (ohhhh and even if I close it the backup have all the ones I created ever. At its core, Notepad++ is a basic text editor, void of the multitude of formatting options in typical word processing software. everything I need to use in the future or some notes I just write on Notepad++. while coding I use VS Code but when I need deal with massive file editing (for data import for example) I use Notepad++.Another point is Notepad++ is always open for me. so it is limited to coding use imo and do a great job. it is slower and can't do text editing fast enough (it can't even open big files) but for coding it is way better. Notepad++ is a text editor that goes far ahead of the default Windows Notepad in terms of features and usability, and has in fact become the source code editor. ![]() when you need to find something in a Log it is the best visual tool for the job. it has a file search feature that is amazing and super fast. working with CSV files with millions of lines is really wonderful with it. the main use for me is for text editing, macros, regex find/replace, etc. you can open and edit huge files that VSCode can't not even open. ![]()
